Jeromesville pop: 500 (On the Highway since 1928)

Jeromesville was laid out in 1815 on land purchased from John Baptiste Jerome. In Jeromesville are the stagecoach Hargrave Tavern Inn (built in 1818) which now is a private residence, and a replica Lincoln Highway concrete post. South of town is the largest living organism in Ohio, a giant sycamore tree.

Ohio’s largest Sycamore tree:

Every year on an October Saturday, local residents assemble hayrides for people to travel to a river valley in the woods to see the largest Sycamore tree in the United States. It is 48 feet around its base, and its largest single trunk is over 35 feet in circumference. The tree stands 129 feet tall.
